An extraordinary girl
Created by Helen 2 years ago
I first met Isabelle years ago when she came to see me about having a lung transplant and I have had the pleasure of getting to know and care for her and her family over the last few years. So many words come to mind to describe her - so funny even when feeling unwell, feisty, sarcastic (best eye roll ever - particularly meeting Boris Johnson) kind, but mostly brave - she showed extraordinary courage and when we discussed a new experimental phage therapy to try and help her she appeared, totally fearless. She was a pioneer and her bravery has meant that many other people have now benefitted from this new treatment - what a legacy. Bravo Isabelle, I will miss you very much. Dr Helen
